ABOUT SCHOOL OF LUNCH (SŌL)

At School of Lunch, we strive to revitalize humanity by empowering a global culinary movement to joyfully disrupt the trend of chronic illness. We do this by training lunch leaders and others at our academies, changing school lunch programs, influencing policy, and providing resources, like videos and guidebooks, for anyone looking to make a change in their homes, schools or communities. The way forward is by looking back to the way our ancestors ate: real food that's nutrient dense and free of chemicals.

ABOUT HILARY

School of Lunch (SŌL) founder Hilary Boynton is the author of the Heal Your Gut Cookbook and fearless mother of five who refused to accept the quality of food her children were being served during school lunch. She began a relentless mission to change the status quo, and eventually took over the lunch program at her local school. Hilary proved the naysayers wrong and created an affordable nutrient dense, farm-to-table meal program that transformed the lives of students. The ancestral-based program has served as a beacon of hope for countless other moms and schools for nearly nine years. Students, parents and administrators alike have marveled at the success the program has garnished.

"This is the time for us to seize the opportunity to reset our internal selves in order to create balance with our external environment. We must let our hearts guide us to do what we know to be fundamentally right; for our children, our community, and ourselves." -Hilary

The SŌL Team

Along with Hilary, School of Lunch Co-Founders Charles Barth (left) and Joel Rodgers (right) make up the SŌL team. Charles (or Chuck as many of you know him), has deep roots in the local food systems. He has served on the CDFA/Farmers Market Advisory Committee and is the current head of the Slow Food Ventura County. Joel is a veteran television Executive Producer/Showrunner and has spent years building ties with his local community of farmers and food producers. As luck would have it, Joel and Chuck both met Hilary on the same day years ago at the same farmers market!
